Could Chronic Illness Have a Deeper Original Imprint?

Could chronic illness have a deeper original imprint? Discover how hypnosis and consciousness may reveal hidden patterns that support healing.

For anyone living with chronic illness, the search for answers can easily become like a second career. There are appointments with specialists, endless tests, treatments, medications, supplements, dietary changes, conflicting opinions, and one new theory after another. Along the way come the invisible costs: stress, worry, uncertainty, emotional exhaustion, and often significant financial strain. And sometimes, alienation and isolation. If you’ve been through this, you know it isn’t just your body that grows tired. It can feel like your very soul is weary and battered. I’ve witnessed it, I’ve been there, and I get it.

After more than 15 years of working with people through profound altered states of hypnosis, I’ve come to appreciate something that continues to expand my understanding of healing. Sometimes the question isn’t simply, “What’s wrong with me?” Sometimes the more meaningful question is, “What is my soul trying to show me?”

Before I go any further, I want to be clear. I deeply value conventional medicine. It has transformed countless lives, and I encourage my clients to seek appropriate medical evaluation and treatment. Yet as our understanding of consciousness continues to evolve, I believe our conversations about healing can evolve as well. Perhaps there are dimensions of human experience that deserve thoughtful exploration alongside the physical, psychological, and biological.

One of the concepts I often explore with clients is what I call the original imprint. The original imprint isn’t necessarily the first symptom or diagnosis. It’s the deeper pattern, experience, or organizing influence from which other challenges may have unfolded. Sometimes that imprint is rooted in an unresolved emotional trauma. Often, it reaches back into childhood. It can reflect ancestral patterns, environmental influences, energetic dynamics. Whatever form it takes, we encounter it through consciousness.

That’s one of the reasons hypnosis has fascinated me for so many years. Despite what many people believe, hypnosis isn’t about surrendering control or adopting someone else’s beliefs. It is a highly focused state of awareness that allows your analytical mind to soften just enough for your own consciousness to reveal meaningful information. Memories, emotions, body sensations, symbols, insights, and patterns often emerge naturally. Your consciousness guides the experience. My role is simply to help you listen, and most important FEEL.

In the not-too-distant past, a client came to me after years of struggling with a chronic condition that had dramatically affected their quality of life. Like many people, they had worked diligently with conventional approaches and explored numerous possibilities. Yet despite all of their efforts, something still felt unresolved.

As we followed their own consciousness during hypnosis, an unexpected picture began to emerge. What unfolded appeared to involve a spirit attachment.

What do I mean when I use the term spirit attachment?

Over many years of facilitating transpersonal hypnosis, I’ve occasionally encountered experiences that I understand as a spirit attachment. My understanding is that this occurs when the consciousness of a person has separated from the physical body but, for whatever reason, has not fully transitioned. Perhaps they are confused. Perhaps they are disoriented. Perhaps they don’t realize they have died, or they are simply unsure of where to go next.

In my experience, these situations are not something to fear. Quite the opposite. And I’m here to help people stay out of fear as they navigate into deeper realms of consciousness.

I believe there is a home where our souls reside that’s more real than this human experience, and that loving guidance is always available. The work is never about battling, fighting, or forcing anything. It is about compassion, understanding, and helping facilitate a natural transition when that appears to be what is needed.

Whether someone shares this understanding or not, I believe the larger invitation is the same: to remain curious about consciousness and the many ways healing can unfold. As our understanding of consciousness continues to expand, perhaps our understanding of healing will expand along with it.

What this experience reinforced for me was something much broader.

Healing often asks us to become curious before becoming certain.

As consciousness research continues to grow through fields such as neuroscience, perceptual studies, psychology, parapsychology, near death experiences, contemplative sciences, hypnosis, and studies of exceptional human experiences, I believe we’re only beginning to understand how deeply consciousness participates in our health, well-being and ultimately, human potential. Rather than choosing between science and spirituality, perhaps the future of healing lies in allowing these conversations to inform one another with humility, curiosity, and respect.

If you’ve been living with chronic illness and feel that something important is still missing, I’m not suggesting you stop seeking medical care. I’m suggesting that your healing journey may benefit from becoming more expansive.

Perhaps there is another layer waiting to be understood.

Perhaps your consciousness has been trying to communicate with you in ways that have gone unnoticed.

And perhaps discovering the original imprint behind what you’re experiencing could open a doorway that hasn’t yet been explored.

If this conversation resonates with you, I invite you to watch the accompanying video where I share this client’s story in greater detail and discuss what unfolded during our session.

If you feel called to explore your own original imprint, I’d be honored to walk beside you. Whether that imprint is emotional, developmental, ancestral, environmental, energetic, or spiritual, your consciousness already holds more wisdom than you may realize.

Sometimes healing doesn’t begin with another treatment.

Sometimes it begins with a different conversation. NoraYollesYoung.com or go directly to scheduling your phone/WhatsApp discovery call with me.
